Restart contract winners announced

DWP has announced that it has awarded Restart contracts to bidders in all 12 contract package areas following a commercial process through the Commercial Agreement for Employment and Health Related Services [CAEHRS].

Four of the Restart bidders were successful and have each been awarded two contracts, these are: Ingeus, Maximus, Reed in Partnership and Serco. All other successful bidders have been awarded one contract each area, these are: Fedcap Employment, G4S, Jobs 22 and Seetec Pluss.

The Employment & Health Related Services Umbrella Agreement (EHRSUA) is a framework-style agreement for the provision of employment and health related services. The objective of the agreement is to provide employment and health related support services helping people who are unemployed, disabled, have a health condition or barrier to work to select, train for, obtain and retain employment. Only providers accepted onto the umbrella framework are permitted to bid for high value DWP contracts.

The Work and Health Programme: levelling the playing field

The Government will fail to create a level playing field in the competition between bidders for the Work and Health programme, according to new research published by the independent think tank Reform. Bidding has started for the Work and Health Programme, which will provide back-to-work services for long term unemployed and disabled people from October 2017.

The European Union of Supported Employment (EUSE) has produced a toolkit for providers and other interested parties. This toolkit consists of a range of Position Papers and How to Guides and has been designed to increase the knowledge and skills of professionals responsible for the delivery of Supported Employment services. The toolkit is primarily aimed at service providers for use in their staff development programmes. The 11 position papers cover a range of topics including, client engagement, vocational profiling, employer contact, in-work support, and career development.
